Ingredient Spotlight: The Benefits of Aloe to your Skin

Living in Australia, it’s likely you’ve at some point in your life been scorched by the sun and used a little gel directly from an aloe plant to soothe the burn but what you might not know is how many other skin benefits this incredible plant has.
Aloe is an ingredient in a huge range of our products including our Balancing Combination Cream, Clarifyl Spot Treatment, Soothing Sensitive Skin Mask, and De-Ageing Mists. Read on to discover more about this wonder-plant and how it could help your skin.

What is Aloe?
Aloe is a family of around 500 succulent plants of which the most well known is Aloe Vera which translates to true aloe. The family is thought to have originated in Africa and has been frequently cited as being used in herbal medicine since the beginning of the first century AD.
Aloe Vera has been dubbed the ‘first aid plant’ and is commonly used on burns, cuts, and even bites.

What skin benefits does aloe have?
– Soothing
Aloe is a natural moisturizer with a cooling, calming effect on the skin, making it ideal for sensitive skin types. You’ll find aloe as a main ingredient in much of our Sensitive Skin Line  . Our Spa Teen All Skin Types Lotion also contains aloe to help protect young skin which tends to be more on the sensitive side.
– Healing
Both our Purifying Skin Mask and Clarifyl Spot Treatment feature Aloe to help increase blood circulation to the surface of your skin to speed up the healing process and nourish damaged cells.
– Hydrating
Our famous Dry Oil Body Moisturiser contains aloe to hydrate and heal dry skin.

– Anti-Ageing
Aloe contains amino acids, fatty acids, zinc and vitamins C and E, all of which are important in the process of skin repair, making it the perfect anti-ageing product. Plus it helps oxygenate the skin too. Our De Ageing Mists feature aloe to help stop the aging process.

The Benefits of Bathing: Detoxification, Deep Muscle Relaxation and More

Once upon a time bathing was a weekly ritual that people took hours out of their day for. It was about more than just hygiene, bathing was considered a religious experience and one that cleansed the mind, body and soul.
These days we’ve replaced a weekly bath with a daily shower and while we’re very much relieved that washing has become a daily ritual, it is certainly a shame that so many people are missing out on the health benefits of a good, long bath.

Let us remind you of some of the benefits of the bathing and show you how to get the most out of your time in the tub…

1. Muscle Relaxion
Whether you’re sitting at a desk all day or you’re an athlete, the deep muscle relaxation that takes place when you’re in a bath is extremely beneficial. You will find yourself with better posture, less aches and cramps and more able to perform during workouts.
Need an extra boost? Our Aromatic Moor combines Natural Black Moor and Pine Essential Oil to alleviate aches, pains and fatigue.

2.  Stress Relief
There’s not that much you can do in a bath. Leave your phone behind and take time out from your busy schedule to forget about the stresses of day-to-day life. If you really can’t switch off, take a magazine or book in with you to distract yourself.
Embrace the powers of aromatherapy by throwing some Mystique Escape Bath Salts into the water and switch off from the world for a while. Rinse away the stress with our Anti Stress Bath and Shower Gel which can be used every day in the shower to ward off anxiety.

3. Detox
Hot baths help your body perspire and draw out toxins in the body. The warmth also increases circulation of the lymph system which helps to clear the system of toxins and create a free-flowing system to improve overall health. Our Aromatic Moor aids in this detoxifying process.

4. Reveal Silky Smooth Skin
A good soak helps to rid yourself of dead skin cells to reveal silky smooth skin. Massage our Silky Skin Body Scrub into your body to smooth, soften and activate blood circulation.
After you leave the bath and pat yourself dry, spray Dry Oil Body Moisturiser all over your body and massage gently until absorbed. Your skin will feel cashmere smooth!

If you want to enjoy the benefits of a good bath but you’re not ready to invest in full-size products, try our Spa-At-Home Kit which includes Preserve Body Moisturizer, Anti-Stress Bath & Shower Gel, Silky Skin Body Scrub, Bath Salts with Essential Oil Anti-Stress, and a Lavender Votive Candle. Everything you need for a relaxing, rejuvenating bath at home.

Country Style Magazine Reviews Pevonia Arominerale Signature Ritual

Not too long ago, we shared our experience having an Arominerale Signature Ritual treatment and now Juliette Winter from Country Style Magazine has shared hers…

What she says…
“After I choose my preferred essential oil (soothing neroli), my therapist lulls meinto relaxation with a back, leg and foot massage before the facial begins. The products are heaven for a stressed-out complexion ; my skin lapped up the optional Pevonia Soothing Propolis Concentrate and looked smoother and happier than it had all year.”Winter recommends this treatment for, “Mums with sensitive, stressed or problem skin” and calls the treatment, “The Harmoniser.”

If you’ve never experienced an in-spa treatment before, this is a fantastic introduction. At 90 minutes long, it incorporates both body and facial components and leaves you feeling completely and utterly relaxed inside and out.
