Days and nights are getting colder and you might notice scales and flakes forming on your skin. Prep your skin for winter so you won’t have to do serious damage repair later. Follow these steps and you’ll surely get through the next three months with glowing skin.

  1. Stay Moisturised. Moisturise your skin regularly in the lead up to and during winter. Did you know that the cooler and drier the temperature gets, the drier your skin goes? Search for face creams and body moisturisers that offer intensive skin care and repair. Moisturise according to your skin type
  2. Stick to short, warm showers. Hot showers can be quite damaging to your skin in winter. It can cause skin to dry your skin out more causing irritation and red patches.
  3. Pay attention to sensitive areas. Apply a moisture rich balm to your lips to avoid chapping. Regularly moisturise your hands and wear gloves, and wear scarf to protect your neck and décolletage. Let’s face it, chapped lips have never been sexy and, unfortunately, winter is the season for them. We’ve heard more than a few people complaining about how dry their lips are right now so we thought we’d offer some advice on how to solve this particularly annoying first world problem.

Follow these eight quick tips to kissable lips this winter…

1. Hydrate
Just because it’s winter doesn’t mean your body doesn’t need hydration! Make sure you’re drinking enough water because dry lips are a sign that the skin cells in your lips are not retaining enough water. If you’re in a heated office, you may actually need more water than you would normally drink in Summer because the heating sucks the moisture from the air.

2. Humidify
If the problem is serious, you might want to invest in a humidifier for your bedroom. Lips, hair, skin and nails thrive on humidified air.

3. Rest and Restore
